Spiritual Meaning of Red

Full of power and heavily connected with the animal kingdom, red is a dense and formidable colour.

Opposite to camouflage, red almost always stands out, regardless of the environment. The usage of red in nature, is often only reserved for plants and animals which either wish to attract, or ward off other entities.

Lustrous love, and aggressive assertion can be linked with red. This energy is very push and pull, on many levels.

Red is also used by humans, often of female inclination, to entice ‘their prey’. Think the red light district.

When in battle, or on the sports pitch, red is also known to be a sign of dominance and somewhat intimidation. The game of master / slave somewhat comes into the scene with red.

We humans are all red on the inside… This colour is the predominant colour, of the flesh, of the animal kingdom.

Attributes of Red

  • Bold, if not the most bold of colours.
  • Sitting opposite green (calming nature), this colour sticks out from nature. It’s the opposite of camouflage. I AM HERE.
  • The lowest of the core Chakras, located at the base of the spine.
  • Action related. Think big red buttons!
  • Urgency of the NOW.
  • HAVE I USED CAPS ENOUGH!?
  • Over other colours, red gets the physical heart going the most.
  • Assertive.
  • Linked with creation and destruction (push and pull).
  • Heavy energy signature.
  • An energy that ties us with earth, and physical creation.

Complimentary Colour

The complimentary colour of assertive red is passive green.

Whilst often an awkward colour to put together from a visual point of view, it is a often associated with spiritual activates, such as the red and green of christmas.

If we shift the red into a higher frequency, pink, this then links with The Heart Chakra quite nicely, as Pink is often associated with love, and The Heart Chakra is often depicted as green, or light green.

Red (base) Chakra Colour

The Base Chakra is the last chakra of our core body.

If you think of the base needs of the human to procreate, then lots of these are linked with The Base Chakra.

Whilst society will constantly change what these things are, largely speaking it’s safe to say it’s linked with shelter, feeling comfortable, feeling that resources are within reach and support is around us, to create a loving environment, for us to create for future generations.

As we get older, into adulthood, these things will shift more to our own family creation and the networks to support not just us (partner + children + your packs children).

Humans are intrinsically linked with each other. Yes sometimes it feels we are at wars with our own kin, but our security is almost always in favour of the pack strength.

Red brings out this strong push/pull of our nearest kin.

The flow of Spiritual Energy

I talk more about Spiritual Energy in my dedicated section, however in that section of the site I haven’t talked about the directional flow of energy within the physical body.

Generally speaking, energy comes from above, and flows through our system downwards.

Our Crown Chakra (top of head) is like a satellite dish to capture energies, to then flow that energy through our energy system to then exit the physical body downwards, through the Base Chakra and other energy systems.

As the energy goes through our system, it develops a unique signature. That signature is to do with us as humans.

The head

Largely speaking, the head has eyes, ears, mouth and nose to ingest information and take this energy of kinds into our system.

This is the receiving element of our body.

The bottom

At the bottom end of our core, we have our extreeting aspects.

This needless to say is our ‘output’ side of the body. This could be seen as the ‘seed side’, in terms of our fertility, but also in terms of our manure!

The Physical Body is of the physical world. Red and the bottom part of our body very much vibrates with our physical footprint on earth. Death for instance, sees the body going back to the darker aspects of red (earth / soil).

The energy signature of red

Red has a very low resonance, if it were sound, it would have a strong base sound, like a fog horn.

The fog horn is both a warning, but also can be a reciprocator of inclination ‘I am here’.

Similar to how the bull chases anything red, and the man is enticing the bull to chase him at his own peril, the two dance a ferocious yet elegant ‘dance’. “Those who live by the sword, die by the sword”.

Humans & the animal kingdom

Being one of the denses energies, its no surprise it’s so heavily linked with the denser energies of the animal kingdom.

Almost any mammal has red blood and red flesh. It’s pretty safe to say the largest part of us, as humans, is red.

Women during menistarion bleed, and when they give birth, they do so from the bottom part of the body. The parallels between creation and red are extremely intertwined.

Menstrual cycles, and the creation of animal life cannot happen without red blood and flesh. Sex and the act of procreation can also be ferociously charged with energy.

‘Red blooded men’ are often associated with true carnivores, but the reality is, even vegans eat food to create yet more red blood in their systems.

It could be argued that we eat the greenery of the blue planet, to create yet more red people.

What happens after red?

Red is the last, and most dense colour of the human colour frequency range. It is heavily connected with the animal kingdom and creation in itself.

When red transitions on, it splits into two direction (Yin & Yang). The Yin and Yang aspects of red are pink and brown.

Pink (Yang)

As mentioned in The Four Bodies section, we are made up of many bodies, including The Physical Body and The Spiritual Body.

From red, aspects of Red then lighten, to become a violet pink. This energy completes the cycle, to return back to violet, in the upper frequencies / upper chakras. How it gets there, I’m yet to be shown.

Pink is a very powerful colour, as it brings out the aspects of love.

Whilst red is more assertive, despite what some people may say, love, and procreation, is of Source / God / Creation. Creation is always good, as creation will always find the path to yet more light / creation / god / source.

Red transmults half of its energy into this love and aspects of pink feeds our Energy Bodys.

Brown (Yin)

The darker aspects of red create a redish brown.

Reddish brown to me can mean many things, however the more brown aspects very much coronate with the death of flesh, and the returning to soil, to then fuel the complimentary colour, green / plants.

Whilst some may say soil is ‘dirt’ it’s quite the opposite. Often soil is full of other forms of smaller life. Mushrooms / fugi for instance, sit somewhere between plant life, and animal life. They have very intricate neural networks, similar to our brains, and help coordinate aspects of the ground in order to convert energy once again, to even deeper, richer colours of brown. This needless to say becomes the bedrock of plants to then transmute this energy back into the light and passive green.

Heat / Warmth

Red is closely linked with physical warmth.

As you follow the electromagnetic spectrum of light towards red, the next band beyond visible light, is the Infra Red. This is a form of directional heat, which literally warms the skin and anything it touches. This is only a few spectrums below the visible colour red.

I can’t help but find it interesting that ‘redheads’ (people with ginger hair) are susceptible to sunburn.

Ultraviolet radiation (UV) sits on the opposite end of red / IR. I’m sure there is a technical reason somewhere, but within the context of poles of energy, it’s quite fascinating.

Carrying on with the lines of Infrared Radiation (IR), when people practice Reiki, often people describe they can feel the heat emanating from the hands, like a form of IR heat.

I have yet to fully understand the transmutional powers of red, but it’s safe to say it’s a strong one, and heavily connected with us physical humans on earth.

Archangels & Spirit Guides associated to Red

Archangel Raziel is often depicted as a deep red, along with Archangel Mallory.

Raziel is know for being a bringer of change, or helping to initiate change within you. For instance, helping you to align aspects of you to receive spiritual energy in a different manner.

If the Base Chakra is the lowest of the chakras (within the core), it’s safe to say this needs to be balanced with the chakras higher up the system. Needless to say, you need to balance both to progress, and Archangel Raziel and Mallory can help with this task.

Connected with the heart (pink), Archangel Chamuel can assist with alignment of the self with souls true ambition.

Quotes

“Push or pull, red is here to resonate!”
