Spiritual Meaning of Orange

Powerful, cleansing and invigorating, orange inspires us to move mountains.
When I think of orange, I think of the word ‘GO’. Orange resonates with being out there, being bold, and confident with your stance and demeanor. Sometimes wild, sometimes courageous, but always impactful.
Situated between the wise yellow, and the raucous red, orange is a positive game changer. Whilst everyone will connect in their own way with different colours, orange for me is very connected with travel, exploration and socialising. Meeting new people ‘on the high seas’ comes to mind.
Often orange is designated with tides of change. Think both the morning and the evening can see a sunrise, or sunset, with orange playing a big part of this signature time of the day. Bold and pronounced, a sunrise wouldnt be the same without orange. The impact of orange is so strong, people literally stop what they do, of all backgrounds, to watch the sun rise or set.
Orange, also blends with yellows and reds, to provider other key turning points in nature, autumn being an example. The light colours given out during autumn are a bit like a fair well fire works display for the year. In various calendars often the new year starts around autumn time (Halloween).
When orange reaches into the lighter notes, it turns beachy in colour. This very much represents the sensuality, and softness of both the light red (pink) and light yellows (creams).

Complimentary Colour

Sitting ‘opposite’ orange is a violet blue.
What a strong colour combination this is!
The mystical, reserved and royal aspects of blue / violet mixed with the vibrant, exploratory aspects of orange gives out a big punch. This to me feels very linked with royalty in the sense of exploring, ‘conquering’ and making waves for all to see.
Whilst everyone will have their own opinion on colour choices, whilst orange and blue can seem regal, it can also feel quite modern and contemporary, pushing new boundaries with high fashion and swagger. I believe there are also links with space travel and ‘space attire’.
Orange Chakra Colour
Orange is connected with the Sacral Chakra.
The Solar Plexus, Sacral and upper Base Chakras form part of the Tan Den. This is often seen as a vessel of spiritual energy. No wonder so much energy is associated with this area.
The Sacral chakra is often linked with sexuality and some could say this also links with labido and the need for general creation, in it’s many forms.
Sexuality has many sides, but when explored in a positive manner it provides a vibrant, exploratory, and highly sensually interactive experience. It also has strong links with socialisation of kinds.
Archangels & Spirit Guides associated to Orange

Being a messenger is a big part of Orange (travel, courage, drive), and this synchronises very well with Archangel Gabriel.
When you go into the more golden aspects of yellow, often Archangel Uriel will come through too.
Given the connection between gold and orange, there can be many multi dimensional colours within the range, which signify divine energy and divine light (guiding stars). Similar to the colour yellow, many depictions of stars and heavenly light, come in the form of yellows, oranges and gold.
Sometimes it feels that yellows and oranges are the current gateways for Archangels and high entities to come through to us. Some may also wish to mention about seraphims and the other multi dimensional ‘golden beings’.
Similar to the finish, or material type of metal, there are many variants of orange. Some colours are considered to be ‘multi dimensional orange’, which can sometimes be perceived as a shimmering orange, or ‘platinum orange’. This ‘platinum orange’ very much links with Archangel Gabriel for me, as she/he helps provide the bridge to many levels of existence, to provide the love and support that we need, through the message, of orange.
Links with Halloween / All Saints’ Day / Spirituality
Orange is a signifier of change, and has strong associations with communication.
I won’t go into the history of All Hallows (saints) Day, however it’s safe to say, in previous years, this day was linked with thanking and connecting with saints and loved ones who have passed on.
Needless to say, the colour orange still to this day is prevalent with this day. Whilst some may say it’s due to pumpkins, I think concept of the ‘sun set colour’ is quite adapt for the cycles of the beginning and end of the life (sun rise / sun set). This links well with the autum and the fact that traditional spiritual practices often started a new year around this time.
Unsurprisingly, another colour linked with All Hallows Day is also purple, the complimentary colour of orange.
Are we in the era of Orange?
Many will talk about the Age Of Aquarius, and I get that, but if we think about where we are at the moment, wouldn’t you say we connect heavily with orange?
The pace of life has never been faster, never more sexualised and is in a constant state of refreshing itself. It’s safe to say every 10 years sees quite significant change now. Previously we were looking more at every century in terms of fashion, music and general cultural changes.
Inspiration is around us wherever we go, in terms of media and cultural input. Almost anyone with a smartphone is now a creator. Most kids want to be a Youtube sensation, which is a crazy cocktail of creativity, media, mass socialisation, and often of sexuality.
Whilst this generation is all about reaching out beyond their town / city, and entering the global stage of social media, often people are left with a slightly unsatisfied feeling. Whilst they may get a dopamine tick every now and then, often people feel somewhat empty from the whole experience.
I can’t help but feel this is a ‘sun set’ of fake faces, in favour of meaningful connection with ourselves, and with our higher selves. This generation is desperately reaching out, but in the wrong ways, in the wrong direction. Rather than going out, they may want to start looking in.
The Age Of Aquarius theories always talk about turning a new page, or setting the sun on an era. I can’t help but feel that we are in this stage right now.
