Spiritual Meaning of Green

Green is one of, if not the most affluent colour on planet earth.
Green is an indicator of growth, from a little plant, to a creative/financial endeavour.
Green is very closely linked with chlorophyll and all that links the greenery and living matter on earth. It reminds us of the continuous cycle of life, and the fact that there is a never ending pool of life.
Upper limits blend with blue, to create variations of teal which remind us of the link between the sea and the land.
Lower limits blends with the vibrancy of yellow (the sun for instance), to create light greens. This links with the feeling of new growth and new ideas / ventres.

Attributes of Green
- Never ending energy.
- Cycles of life, and all that is living.
- Money, or more realistically, the concept of abundance.
- Mother nature, or more specifically, plant matter and aspects of plant life, both on land and in the sea.
- Sitting between blue, and yellow, green provides a wonderful reminder of the connection between the land, sea and the sun.
Complimentary Colour of Green
Green is a wholesome vibrant colour which often links us with plants, mother earth and food! The complimentary colour of green is red! The fiery colour of passion, and action.
For you can’t have fire without fuel! Green provides that never ending fuel for that fire.
Interesting fire is also linked heavily with the cooking of food.
Green Chakra Colour
The colour green is linked with the Hearth Chakra.
Often people see the heart as the key to our emotional self. The mind / brain / electrical systems provide excellent tools for computation, but it is the heart that links closer to that of the soul, and our emotional experience of the world.
Whilst maths and science evolves on it’s own cycles, the way we interact and feel the world around us is key to our learning experiences on earth, as souls. These experiences can be hard, and they can be full of joyful. Every experience is key to our growth.
This growth of the hearth, the soul, and mankind, could be linked with that of a little plant, or a field of plants. I believe the soul is ultimately propagated into many other little souls, so this once again connects analogies with mother nature as a whole.
Looking at the colour wheel, the opposite colour of light green, is pink! Pink needless to say is often linked with love.
When we look at our own little human creations (children) we can’t help but feel the connection between them, us, and our previous generations! Needless to say, that pink (love) and red (passion / sex) are all linked in the cycle of love and creation.
Archangels & Spirit Guides associated to Green

For many, Archangel Raphael reaches out when it comes to the green spectrums of light.
Whilst I haven’t written about it yet, something tells me the there are also other Archangels who connect with the teals and lighter greens. For instance, when I think of greener elements of yellow, I think of Archangel Uriel and Archangel Jophiel.
Green and nature

Nature is full of green, and some may consider green, as one of the fundamental building blocks of life on earth.
If we look in the oceans alone, around 50% of the worlds oxygen comes from the plankton within the sea. This plankton not only helps create the air that we breath, but it also provides a base food source for the next level of living organism.
The same can be said on land for grass and other greenery which then creates a base energy source for other animals.
Needless to say, the growth of the green life (plankton and the likes of) is often fueled by the nitrogen and waste from the animal life.
If we once again look at the colour wheel, new plant growth could been as light green, or a yellowy green. The opposite of this could be seen as a dark red, or brown, something which could associated with earth / manure and the death of animal life.
The opposing colour of green, red, is also a reminder of autumn. Autumn is an indicator of an end of a cycle. Not ‘the death’ of the cycle, but simply an benchmark of a new chapter.
